Ursprung, refers to the origin, or source. 

Building on the foundations of Promenadologie, this series dives deeper into the forces of nature and attempts not only human surrender, but a coexistence and collaboration with the natural world.

The wood is bare, clean and honoured through human craftsmanship and tradition. Shellac polishing is demanding on the body and the mind, and repetitive: it is as ritualistic, as it is almost forgotten.

The Ursprung goes far beyond its materiality, as it’s rooted in my own upbringing. The series is created in my place of origin: my father’s carpentry. Here I was taught my understanding of material, sustainability and nature.

And what we learn from nature is applied: To move in ideal sync, adjusted within its own evolutionary process. 

Ursprung is the forest reduced to its core structures.
